Academic Collaboration, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in Life Sciences

Scientific excellence increasingly relies on strong, sustainable, and interdisciplinary partnerships that connect academia, research institutions, industry, public authorities, and society to address global challenges. At the Faculty of Horticulture and Business for Rural Development, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, collaboration is a strategic pillar supporting research, education, and innovation. The Faculty has developed an integrated research ecosystem through long-standing partnerships with national and international research institutions, the Romanian Academy and the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (ASAS), private companies, producer organizations, and public authorities, enabling multidisciplinary projects, access to advanced research infrastructure, technology transfer, and the development of sustainable solutions for horticulture, agriculture, food systems, biodiversity, climate resilience, and rural development. International cooperation through Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, COST Actions, and other research networks further strengthens scientific excellence by promoting mobility, joint research, and knowledge exchange. Equally important is the active involvement of students and alumni, who contribute to research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional practice, reinforcing the Faculty’s role as a catalyst for scientific progress, sustainable development, and the modernization of the horticultural and agri-food sectors.
